What’s a great way to celebrate a 4 year old’s birthday you might ask? Well… throw in an animal farm, a toy train, some cars, water pistols, a motley bunch of friends, a mom who is amazing at planning parties, delicious cake and a great family! That’s a simple recipe! 🙂
On a lovely summery morning, we reached Fox Hollow Farms to celebrate the man of the hour. Dressed in a formal shirt, tie and vest but still keeping it casual in shorts, Avyaan arrived in style! As the family got together to decorate the gazebo at the farm, Avyaan took off to discover the beautiful place. He was enthralled by the peacocks, peahens, horses and goats. As his friends started to pour in, the party took a new turn. Little gift packets were offered to everyone who walked in and the kids seemed mighty thrilled! There were scarves, straw hats and water guns for the taking. The little people were busy climbing the horse carriage (minus the horse) and running amok shooting water at each other. Of course the adults got drenched a little too but who cares when you’re having so much fun!
The party then moved to the pony ride area and the cars section. The kids seemed to be having a blast! They also found a pretty little children’s only house with a small kitchenette and chairs to match. Avyaan and friends made me some tea while I was there… totally worth it, I must say! Just as they were about to make me dinner, they were called in for the cake cutting ceremony. The beautiful cake had al of Avyaan’s favorite things on it–Thomas the train, trucks and animals! He seemed really eager to dig into the cake and could barely wait till everyone sang for him. He and his friends then sat down at the tables to relish a delicious birthday feast. Once the sugar high hit, they were all over the lawns, running, jumping and drenching each other with their water guns. The infectious energy soon caught on to all the adults present and by the end of a fun party, the whole crowd seemed to be partaking in the water fight!
At the end of the party, the birthday boy insisted on carrying the wagon of his gifts and it made for quite a sight! Just before the children disbanded, they went into the sheds to see the newly born piglets, chicks and the beautiful horses inside. All in all, it was a wonderfully planned party with everything a four year could ever dream of!
