There on, they moved to their mammoth reception stage where the guests could come and meet and greet the couple. Somewhere around midnight, we were ushered into a separate dinning tent where an exotic feast lay ready and what seemed like a never-ending culinary treat was laid out one course after another.
Post dinner, the bridesmaids and the groom’s sister helped the bride to another pandal where the couple were to be wed in true traditional style. While most of the guests had left by then, only the close family and friends stuck around for these important rituals. Once Vishal had put the sacred vermillion on the bride’s head and the sacred thread or ‘mangalsutra’, they were finally pronounced husband and wife! You could see the joy and cheer in everyones’ faces despite of the cold and late night.
In the wee hours of the morning, Twinkle was led to her new house by her new family. In a touching moment, Twinkle and her father both burst into tears as he bid adieu to his beautiful daughter whom he loved so much. The newly weds were finally sent off to start their life together as husband and wife.
